A Sex Crime?

 

 

Condoms scattered on the victim's bedroom floor. I would immediately think she was intimately involved with someone relative to the time of her death. This was never a motive to this police department. Probably because they were all lining up to point their fingers at fellow cops and accusing each other of having sexual relations with the victim.

David volunteered to take a polygraph test immediately upon appearing for questioning. The detectives refused him one, saying only they can authorize polygraph tests and they weren't giving him one. Pittsburg Steelers Sweatshirt

This is a photo of the Pittsburg Steelers sweatshirt removed from David Thorne's car under a search warrant. It was logged on the evidence sheet as a Pittsburg Steelers sweatshirt. By the time it reached the lab, it was a Harley Davidson sweatshirt with blood stains on it. Since it was in the possession of ex-Detective Bud Sampson, he would logically be the person responsible for switching the shirts.

The public is finally beginning to realize that citizens are indeed wrongfully incarcerated in our country due to all of the overturned convictions. The fact that wrongful convictions continue to happen in light of such information is what should make people take a stand.

Perjury

 

How do people who agree to perjure themselves to "take a guilty man off the streets" live with their decision? If the man was truly guilty, don't you think the authorities would have enough information to indict and convict thim WITHOUT you perjuring yourself to "help" them? Think about it.

Fingerprint

There was a knife found five blocks from the victim's house the day afer the crime. It had a thumbprint on the bottom of the blade. The print did not match David Thorne or Joseph Wilkes. Despite the fact that it matched a set of knives f...rom the victim's kitchen and this size knife was missing from the set, analysts determined it could have come from "some other set of knives" so wasn't useful as evidence. Hmmm......Wonder where this case went wrong?

Justice for All

Yvonne Layne was brutally murdered 14 years ago as of March 31, 2013.  Two men are currently serving the remainder of their lives behind bars for a crime they did not commit.  One of the men, Joseph Wilkes, was badgered into confessing to the crime and implicating his friend, David Thorne.  Joe signed a confession and David Thorne was convicted on the strength of Joe Wilkes' testimony alone.  Joe has since recanted.
What people don't seem to realize is that people are often implicated, charged and convicted of crimes they did not commit, many times based on a coerced confession.  On top of this injustice is the fact that while innocent people are serving the true killer's time, that person is walking around free, possibly committing more crimes and probably taking more lives. 
While there is a grave injustice being dealt to the two men behind bars, there is also a victim who has not received justice.  Her family is living their lives believing the lies told them by the justice system. No one received justice in this case.  Not the accused and not the victim.  No one. 
Justice for David.  Justice for Yvonne.  Justice for Joe.

FLAWED THEORY

Detectives said that David was a "master" in the art of shootfighting, which is a form of martial arts David had just begun training in. They said he "trained" Joseph Wilkes in this form of martial arts, giving them a common "violent" connection. David did not train anyone. Detectives made a big commotion about David owning a "wild animal"; his cougar Harley. The other "wild animals" he would occasionally have in his possession were from the wild animal habitat where he and his friends volunteered their time cleaning cages for the owner. Detectives promoted the idea that David was a coward, saying he hired Joe Wilkes to murder Yvonne Layne. They promoted this theory despite the fact that the only brush with the law that David ever had was when he and Joe and other friends got into a scuffle in a parking lot and Joe broke someone's car window. As soon as police questioned Joe about the window, he blamed David to get himself out of trouble. So, considering the detective's theories, here's (one of a thousand) problem(s) I have with all of this: Why would someone decide to use a knife and leave such an evidence-rich bloody crime scene instead of using their martial arts "master skills" as a weapon? Why would someone use a knife when it have been easy for the victim to have an "accident" with one of the animals? If David had Joe commit a crime for him because he was a coward, why was David in solitary confinement when he and Joe were at the same local jail, "for Joe's protection"? Joe, the guy who previously broke a car window and blamed David for it. THAT'S the guy David would choose to commit a crime for him and keep it quiet. SERIOUSLY??? David is innocent. Joe is innocent. The only people guilty in this scenario are the detectives who "master"-minded this ridiculous theory.
