The Wrongful Conviction Of David Thorne
David Thorne was arrested in July, 1999 in the death of Yvonne Layne, the mother of his 2-year-old son. David was implicated in this crime by 18-year-old Joseph Wilkes, whom he had befriended a few years earlier. Detectives bullied Joseph and coerced a false confession from him after threatening him with the electric chair. Joseph has since recanted. Despite the recantation and Joseph's sworn affidavit and court testimony that his confession was coerced and completely false, David Thorne remains behind bars for a crime he did not commit. David is innocent.
